Fabio Leal & Antropojazz is inspired by The Cannabalist Manifesto, (Oswald de Andrade, 1928) written on the idea of “cultural cannibalism,” or anthropophagy. With its emphasis on Indigenous, African, and European influences in the Brazilian Identity, the piece speaks strongly to Leal and his musical path. The group presents original compositions, as well as traditional Brazilian songs, recreated through strikingly avant-garde arrangements.

Each of the five musicians has a distinct musical and cultural path, creating a dynamic palette of “musical colors” within the group.
